From Plan to Action: Greenville Together’s Mid-Year Update

Greenville Together was built on a simple belief: when a community comes together, real change is possible. Over the past several months, we have moved from planning to action, working alongside our steering committee, lived experience council, and backbone partners to turn ideas into impact.

So far this year, we have housed 11 households, 18 people in total, and we are just getting started. Thanks to the Housing Surge and new partnerships, dozens more will follow in the months ahead.

Behind every number is a person and a story of resilience.

  • A woman who had been unable to rent for seven years because of a $300 past-due utility bill from 2018 is finally in a home of her own.
  • A 72-year-old man who had experienced homelessness on and off for nearly three decades moved into his own apartment.
  • A working family of five, with children ages 14, 10, and 7, who had lived in their car for nearly a year, finally has a safe and stable home. Their journey was made possible by partners like Affordable Upstate, 3B Interiors, Swamp Rabbit Movers, Mill Village, and Village Wrench, who stepped up with housing, furniture, moving support, and even new bikes for the kids.

The first half of this year shows what is possible when Greenville comes together. From individuals to organizations, we are building momentum, strengthening the system, and creating long-term solutions.
