Our field-based outreach team meets people where they are, builds trust, addresses immediate needs and connects individuals and families to housing-focused services.
Residents, businesses and visitors can dial 211 to request a non-emergency, housing-focused outreach response for someone experiencing homelessness.
The forthcoming Homeless Support Center will bring basic needs, housing navigation, health services, employment support, technology access and partner connections together in one place. It will not operate as an overnight shelter or daytime respite center; its purpose is to help people take concrete steps toward housing and stability.
Greenville Together starts from a clear belief: homelessness is a housing problem, and it is solved by helping people obtain safe, stable, permanent housing. Re-housing is our most urgent priority and the outcome toward which every part of our work is directed.
In our first year, Greenville Together focused intensely on those facing the greatest vulnerability. That commitment remains. But our work revealed a major gap: families with children have no emergency shelter option that keeps them together. Rising housing and living costs are pushing more working families into homelessness. Parents face an impossible choice: separate to access shelter, or stay together in vehicles, unaffordable hotels or other unsafe conditions. Our outreach team sees this gap firsthand. Families need an immediate, safe option while they work toward permanent housing, and we’re building a stronger response with our partners.

We align partners around shared priorities, clarify roles, reduce duplication, use data to identify gaps, and hold ourselves accountable for measurable housing outcomes.
